from "Welcome To Radnor Township School District", a publication of R.T.S.D.
The Radnor community, with a population of 29,500, is located 13 miles west of Philadelphia. It is an upper-middle class community with a few well-integrated low-income areas and several large estates.

Officially founded in 1682, the Radnor community is a delightful mix of residential, rural and business areas. In fact, in April 1996 Philadelphia Magazine named Radnor Township as "The Best Place To Live In The Philadelphia Region".

This honor was the result of a "Quality of Life Index" created by Philadelphia Magazine to rank 165 towns in the Philadelphia region on attributes including commitment to schools, crime rate, availability of public transportation, housing prices, population diversity and density, amount of protected open space, quality of recreation, degree of recycling, shopping facilities and overall "trendiness".

Radnor Township is a community proud of its heritage. It is a place of ethnic, cultural and economic diversity, with neighborhoods full of residents who love to call Radnor their "home"; with a public school system that been rated as one of the finest in the nation; with a vast network of lush parks, playgrounds and athletic fields; and with a long-standing tradition of demanding and receiving high-quality local government services.
